It’s not surprising though, because when I hear of a hammock I imagine my cotton white (cream) rope hammock hanging in my backyard. As every rope hammock mine also has wood spreader bars on either ends to keep it open and to support my weight easier.

Each fabric has its own advantages but they both can last for years and the cotton hammocks are extremely comfortable. The only advantage of polyester to cotton is that it is more durable, i.e. it is resistant to harmful UV rays, mold and mildew, as for the cotton you should not let it be exposed to sun, mold or mildew for prolonged periods of time.

The most natural way to hang a rope hammock is between two trees that are about 13-17 feet apart. But if it is difficult for you to find such perfectly parted trees then you can always use a hammock stand to hang your comfy new rope hammock anywhere you like.
